Tomato Basil Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

 

1 loaf Italian bread or baguette (preferably fresh)

 

2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

 

2 garlic cloves, minced

 

1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

 

2 large tomatoes, sliced

 

Fresh basil leaves, chopped

 

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

 

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

 

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Instructions:

 

Preheat Oven:

 

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

 

Prepare Bread:

 

Slice the bread horizontally into halves or into individual pieces. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

 

Make Garlic Spread:

 

In a small bowl, mix olive oil (or melted butter), minced garlic, and Italian seasoning (if using). Brush generously over the bread.

 

Layer Toppings:

 

Arrange tomato slices on the bread. Season with salt and pepper.

 

Add Cheese:

 

Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the tomatoes. For extra flavor, add Parmesan.

 

Bake:

 

Bake for 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly, and edges are golden.

 

Finish with Basil:

 

Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.

 

Serve:

 

Slice and enjoy warm as an appetizer, side, or snack!
